at 2187 (Canvey Island) Squadron

So far in 2007...
- 1 cadet gained a place to the USA for a 2-week International Air Cadet Exchange (IACE).
- 1 cadet gained an Air Cadet Flying Scholarship.
- 1 cadet gained a Gliding Scholarship and Silver wings, and was Top Student of his course.
- 9 cadets gained Bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
- 2 cadets graduated as Junior Leaders - one gained the Cross Trophy for Outstanding Leadership.
- 1 cadet attended the RAF Regiment Experience camp at RAF Honington.
- 6 cadets attended Summer Camp at RAF Leeming.
- 10 cadets attended Easter Camp at RAF Cosford - one of our cadets gained Best Cadet.
- 4 cadets went to the Air Cadet Adventure Training Centre at Windermere.
- 1 female cadet represented London & South East Region at the Inter-Region Athletics Competition at RAF Cosford.
- 1 cadet represented Essex Wing in the London & South East Region Netball competition, helping the team gain 1st place.
- 1 cadet represeted Essex Wing in Shooting, at the London & South East Region Field Day.
- 16 cadet assisted at the Southend Airshow and were rewarded with a flight in the Chinook helicopter.
- 1 cadet came in the runners up for Essex Wing Cadet of the Year.
- 30 flights were taken by cadets in the Tutor trainer at RAF Wyton.
- 3 cadets have had Gliding Induction Courses.
- We went to Ypres in Belgium for a First World War battlefields tour in August.
- 12 Air Cadet Swimming Proficiencies gained.
- A successful fundraising Quiz Night was held.
- Two fun Indian Dinners were held (complete with disco and karaoke!) to raise funds.
- A number of weekend exercises were held.
- We had a day trip to Thorpe Park.
