Alternatively, you could attend one of the Air Cadet Adventure Training Centres at Windermere in the Lake District, or Llanbedr in the Snowdonia area of North Wales . This could see you doing canoeing, rock-climbing, abseiling, canoeing, pony-trekking, quad-biking, mountain biking, hill and mountain walking…the list is endless!

More experienced cadets can participate in Overseas Expeditions, which are often two weeks or more. Essex Air Cadets have been on expeditions to the Scottish Highlands, Canadian Rockies, Iceland, and the French Pyrenees, to name a few. The expeditions usually involve lots of route planning between both staff and cadets beforehand, as well as a couple of practice weekends. On the expedition itself, cadets will go in groups ino the mountains for several days, and then finish with a couple of days to relax.

There have been Air Cadet expeditions all around the globe, which have included going to Africa and Asia, many of them also having projects to help out villages in those regions.
