____________________

All ATC staff are volunteers. At 2187 (Canvey Island) Squadron, many of our staff are former Air Cadets or ex-regular HM Forces (although this is by no means a pre-requisite). There are both uniformed Reservist and civilian staff on squadron strength. Staff can attend courses to gain qualifications in First Aid, weapons training, fieldcraft, mountain leadership, canoeing, basic expedition leader and more. Staff can also gain vocational qualifications, in both ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) and various levels of City & Guilds Youth Management & Training.
