All ATC staff are volunteers. There are both uniformed Reservist and civilian staff on squadron strength. Staff can attend courses to gain qualifications in First Aid, weapons training, mountain leadership, basic expedition leader and more.

If the this interests you, and you are 20+, fancy a challenge and would like to be involved as a staff member with 2187 Squadron and make a difference to the young people of our community, please email the Commanding Officer or visit us at our HQ.

Our squadron staff come from a variety of professions, including IT, Police, paramedics, salesmen - everyone has something to offer our cadets, regardless of background or job.

There are a wide range of roles you could be doing:  training cadets in both a classroom and practical environment in the training syllabus or for leadership and teamwork, co- ordinating the Duke of Edinburgh Award, organising sports and adventure training, bandmaster, first aid, aircraft recognition, weapons instructor, admin, supply, social and community events, handling public relations.

You don't need to have any experience, just a willingness to get involved.  Training courses are available if you wish to get more involved in First Aid, Weapons training, Mountain Leader, Kayaking/Canoeing Instructor and much more!
